Psychologist
College Psychologist
As an integral part of the College’s commitment to Pastoral Care, the College Psychologist offers a service to all members of the College community. The Psychologist is employed on a full time basis and works closely with the Assistant Deputies, Vice Principal and Staff.
The Psychologist works with individual students, families and staff in the areas of learning, behaviour and social/emotional/personal issues. There are many reasons why a member of the Servite Community may access this service including:
· Help to get along with people including peers and family.
· Understanding and dealing with feeling sad, anxious or worried.
· Managing difficulties with concentration, appetite or sleeping etc.
· Helping with study plans, skills, and exam techniques.
· Helping to connect the community to other services as necessary.
There are several ways that the Psychologist can be accessed. A student, parent or staff member can refer themselves via phone, in person or via their Assistant Deputy. A parent can also ring to obtain advice or to seek information about outside agencies.
A student may also be referred via the Pastoral Care system, in consultation with their Assistant Deputy and the Vice Principal.
