Rights and Responsibilities 

General

We are a Christian community. Therefore Christ is at the heart of all that we do and all to which we aspire. We are disciples of Christ and we show the importance of his Gospel message by our care and concern for others.As Servites, we pay special respect to Mary and the traditions of our community and service to all others.

I have a right to be happy at school and be treated with understanding.
 
I have a responsibility to respect the rights of others and to treat them with understanding.
 
Bullying; harassment, verbal abuse, offensive language
 
I have a right to be treated respectfully and fairly.
 
I have a responsibility to treat all staff and students with fairness, respect and honesty.
 
Lack of courtesy, lying, inappropriate physical contact or physical abuse
 
I have a right to feel safe and secure.
 
I have a responsibility not to do anything which may threaten or cause danger to myself or others and to report any dangerous situation or condition I see around the school.

 
Fighting, daring, practical jokes, leaving the school grounds without authorisation, talking to strangers around the school grounds.
 
 I have a right to learn.
 
I have a responsibility to behave myself in class and not disturb others, to keep up to date with all classwork and homework and be punctual to all classes.
 
Disruption of the class, lateness, being unprepared for class, leaving or not attending class without permission or my diary signed.
 
I have a right to expect my property to be safe.
 
I have a responsibility not to steal, damage or destroy the property of others and to take proper care of the school's property, and to return all found property to the office. I have the responsibility to clearly label all my property.
 
Vandalism, stealing, interfering with others' property/lockers, keeping items that have been found, damaging learning materials, disclosing lock combinations, bringing large sums of money or valuables to school, not handing in mobile phones into the office.
 
I have a right to be protected against threats to my health.
    

 I have a responsibility not to smoke,drink alcohol or take drugs, or encourage any other student to do so

 

 Cigarettes, alcohol and illegal drugs, not obeying road and bike safety laws 
  

 
I have a right to have a clean, pleasant, well­maintained school and grounds.
I have a responsibility to care for the school environment, to keep it neat and clean - free of graffiti and litter.
 
 
  
 Littering, classrooms/grounds, chewing gum, ball sports in undesignated areas, driving and parking cars without permission 
 
I have a right to feel proud of Servite College.
 
I have a responsiblity to behave so the community will respect Servite College.
 
Incorrect or unkempt uniform, inappropriate Jewellery/hairstyle, unacceptable behaviour to and from school and at off school functions.
